The week of the Feast of the Epiphany, when Western Christians observe the visit of the Magi to the Christ child, seems to me a good time to recall the important historical relationship of Christianity to astrology. The Magi, “the three wise men,” were astrologers. So were Albertus Magnus, Roger Bacon, Marsilio Ficino (all Catholic priests) and probably one of your relatives. So don’t at me with the “astrology has no part in Christianity.” Dude, it’s had a part in Christianity from the very beginning. There was this star. . .
Anyway, though I have been studying astrology for forty years or so, I am not big into the prediction business. But I do watch astrological trends—especially concerning the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto)—to get an idea of where things might be heading. It’s similar to watching a weather forecast—to be forewarned is to be forearmed. That kind of thing. And, as Thomas Aquinas writes in Summa Contra Gentiles (in an idea he may have cribbed from Plotinus, who says basically the same thing), “The stars incline; they do not compel.” But to the business at hand.
Pluto moves into Aquarius (January 2024)
In a couple of weeks, Pluto will move into Aquarius. Every time Pluto moves into a new sign, a shift in world events happens, always corresponding to the qualities of the sign into which Pluto moves. Pluto, the god of the underworld and riches, is a volatile little bugger, so it usually trashes the joint before letting the dust settle. When Pluto moved into Capricorn in January 2008, for example, that coincided with the Financial Crisis™ that messed up or ruined the financial security of millions (if not billions) of people—while the banksters themselves became obscenely rich. (If you’ve seen the film or read the book, The Big Short, you know what I’m talking about).
With Pluto moving into Aquarius, I would say the Age of the Banksters (and with it the Industrial-Military-Pharmaceutical Complex) is coming to an end. One can only perpetuate massive fraud for so long. It will probably be disruptive for everyone in the short term, but Aquarius is the sign of freedom and innovation, which should be good, kind of like when the internet first became a “democratizing force” before the WEF, the FBI, and the CIA got all up in freedom’s grill. But note: the Archons know this and will try everything they can to avoid the inevitable. But it is inevitable. Nothing lasts forever. Pluto will back into Capricorn for six weeks or so in late summer, but the energy is moving toward Aquarius.
Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Taurus (April 2024)
This conjunction gets astrologers pretty exhilarated, almost on a high. The conjunction promises hope, freedom, optimism—definitely an “all you need is love” vibe—and Uranus being the ruler of Aquarius (where Pluto is moving) only adds to that freedom-loving joie de vivre. Venus joins this conjunction a month later, which should sprinkle even more hopeful vibes across the body politic. The Archons would prefer you to be miserable. Sucks to be them.
Then we get to 2025. That’s when things get really interesting.
Neptune enters Aries (March 31)
First of all 0º of Aries is a SUPER IMPORTANT point: it’s where it all starts—the first day of spring. There’s a reason the Feast of the Annunciation is so close to the vernal equinox—March 25th also having been thought to be the day of the last day of creation as well as the historical date of the crucifixion. It’s a BIG FAT DEAL. So, when Neptune enters Aries, I would expect it to be a harbinger of an inauguration of a new era of spirituality. That’s on the good side. On the bad side, an era of pharmacological excess (cannabis, mushrooms, DMT, etc) could also become a cultural tsunami. The last time Neptune entered Aries coincided with the U.S. Civil War—which I don’t expect to repeat (other things were going on then), but I think it does point to a general feeling that “things can’t keep on this way” and that change is not only immanent but unavoidable. Neptune will backtrack into Pisces for a bit in 2025, but moves into Aries for the long haul in 2026.
Saturn conjunct Neptune (June 2025)
Speaking of big fat deals, this is a super big fatty. First of all, this is the same conjunction that coincided with the downfall of Eastern Bloc Communism in 1988-89. It was also when Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 28 years (a Saturn cycle) of incarceration. If you were alive at that time—and I was—you will recall it as a time of great hope and optimism (the iconic dismantling of the Berlin Wall). Seeing totalitarian regimes implode can do that to a person. At that time, the planets (and Neptune) were in Capricorn—the sign of bankers and investors and a masculine order of things (among other things). So, while it disrupted the Communist order, it strengthened the Capitalist: this was when the American Empire™ (propped up by the banksters) really came into its own and over time became, it could be argued, an even more evil realization of the totalitarianism that then collapsed. Nevertheless, with this conjunction at 0-1º of Aries, the reset button will again be hit—and it won’t be the Great Reset the Archons have been promoting. They already know this and are trying to circumvent the inevitable. Good luck, muthafuckahs.
Jupiter trine Saturn, Uranus trine Pluto (September-December 2025)
In June and July, while Saturn and Uranus are still doing their conjunction thing, Jupiter will trine Saturn, bringing peace where before there was strife. A similar thing will happen when Uranus trines Pluto in September. These aspects bode well for a peaceful and prosperous type of change. The only thing is, change is a property of the cosmos, and there will always be Archons happy to make your lives miserable. But the era for this crop of Archons is coming to an end.
Parting Words
As I said, the stars incline, they do not compel. On our farm, for example, we plant by the stars (primarily the position of the Moon), but that doesn’t mean we don’t have to hoe, pull weeds, enrich the soil, or water the gardens. So, rather than simply waiting for the Archons to implode, a better approach would be to do the inner and outer work that is the best defense against their black magic. I find the words of the French sociologist and philosopher Georges Friedmann of particular comfort in this regard:
“This work on yourself is necessary; this ambition justified. Lots of people let themselves be wholly absorbed by militant politics and the preparation for social revolution. Rare, much more rare, are they who, in order to prepare for revolution, are willing to make themselves worthy of it.”
To that end, my one and only New Year’s resolution (let’s call it a “New Year’s Revolution”) is to pray out loud Psalm 82 as a spiritual exercise at the beginning of each day for the foreseeable future. I invite you to join me:
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
This song isn’t related, but it’s so lovely I feel moved to share it:
That song is really beautiful. I woke up with it stuck in my head, which was not unpleasant. I was llke, "Actually, you know what, that's fine, you can just stay there."
